Hello, I'm Dr. Derrick Hassert, currently a candidate at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. As a therapist I seek to build a collaborative bond with patients in order to work together to achieve better mental health. I have previous training in interpersonal psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology, and training in transference focused psychotherapy through Columbia University's Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.

"The brain is the organ of the mind. If we want to fully understand mental life, we must integrate the findings of neuroscience with all levels of the mind.
Neuropsychoanalysis is interested in the neurobiological underpinnings of how we act, think, and feel. As we begin to link brain activity with a psychoanalytic model of the mind, even at the deepest levels, a truly dynamic understanding can emerge."
